If you’re running a SACMI rotary blow molder, you know how tight those cycles are. There’s zero room for error. When your heating lamps lag during startup or just can’t hit the target temperature fast enough, things go south quickly. You end up with uneven walls or, even worse, preforms bursting right there on the line. It’s a headache nobody needs. That’s exactly why we built our PETC preform heater modules. We wanted to kill that lag time for good. The secret to a fast start We spent a lot of time looking at the thermal mass of the filament and the quartz envelope. The goal was simple: less bulk, more power. By using a high-wattage density setup, these lamps hit operating temperature in seconds. Plus, we matched the voltage and wattage to the SACMI power rails perfectly. This means the current hits the filament exactly how it should, without those annoying voltage drops that make your ramp-up feel like it’s dragging. The nitty-gritty on materials We use high-purity quartz glass because it lets the IR radiation through without fighting it. Inside the tube, there’s a halogen cycle that stops the filament from thinning out over time. It keeps your heat output steady for thousands of hours, so you aren’t constantly chasing your tail with adjustments. And don’t worry about the installation. We use standard connectors—like R7s or Sk15—so these are true drop-in replacements. You can swap them out and get back to work without having to rewire your entire rack. A quick heads-up on performance These modules put out some seriously intense, short-wave IR radiation. That’s the magic that lets the heat soak into the PET material almost instantly. But here’s the thing: that much heat puts a lot of pressure on your oven’s ventilation. If your cooling blowers are clogged with dust or just aren’t pulling enough air, the temperature inside the heater bank will start to climb. If that happens, you might accidentally overheat the preform necks. Just keep your airflow clear, and these lamps will do the heavy lifting for you.
