Ever tried to heat a sunroom or an attic with huge glass walls? You know that feeling. You crank up the heat, and it just… vanishes. The warmth gets swallowed by the glass before it ever reaches you. Standard heaters push warm air around, but in a glass-heavy space, that’s a losing battle. So we built something different. Our fake-flame infrared heaters go straight to the source—you, the floor, the solid surfaces that actually hold warmth. We bypass the air completely, so the heat doesn’t bleed out through the windows.
The Tech, Without the Fluff
At the heart of it is a shortwave infrared lamp. Inside a 300mm quartz tube, we run a 2500W halogen element. That power density is what creates the high-intensity radiation needed to cut through the space and warm solid objects directly—instead of wasting energy on air that just slips away. The physics are straightforward. The lamp throws off radiant energy that travels clean through the air. When it hits surfaces—floor, furniture, you—it turns into heat on contact. That’s how you get a comfortable warmth at floor level, even when the glass overhead stays cold.
Built to Take the Heat
We don’t use regular glass here. We use high-purity quartz. It handles the shock of turning on and off quickly, and it stays solid under intense heat. Inside, the halogen element keeps things stable and lasts. And the connection? We use the R7s connector—the industry standard for this footprint. It gives you a solid, two-point contact that can handle the high current without overheating the terminals. It’s simple, tough, and makes installation a straight swap into existing fixtures.
Where It Shines
In an attic or sunroom packed with glass, this setup is the practical way forward. The infrared radiation locks warmth where you actually feel it—in the occupied zone—not in the air that’s just going to leak away. That means you don’t have to oversize the unit to fight endless heat loss through the glazing. There is a trade-off: the lamp gets hot, so you need a safe clearance. Placement matters. But get it wired right, and you get heating that targets the real problem—those big, beautiful glass surfaces that otherwise steal all your comfort.
