Getting Your Space Back
When you switch to IR, the heating elements can sit right in the production line. We don’t just give you a generic box; we spec the unit based on exactly how thick your coating is and what material you’re working with. Because the energy is concentrated, you can ditch those massive, insulated chambers. You get the same cure time, but you actually have room to breathe in your shop again.
The Nitty-Gritty Stuff
We use short-wave IR emitters because they punch through the surface fast. Now, a quick heads-up on the electrical side: these plug into your existing grid, but you’ll want to double-check that your panel can handle the initial surge when things ramp up. To keep everything safe, we use shielded cabling and high-temp terminal blocks. Nobody wants melted wires near a heat source. The whole thing is modular. You can just drop it into your current setup or bolt it straight to your conveyor. We spend a lot of time obsessing over the layout of the emitters so you don’t end up with “cold spots” on your parts.
The Trade-offs
Look, IR is fast, but it isn’t a “set it and forget it” kind of deal. Since the heat is so intense, distance is everything. If the part gets too close to the lamp, you’re going to scorch the finish. Too far, and you’re wasting time and energy. To get it right, we usually pair these units with a precise conveyor speed controller. It keeps the timing consistent so every piece comes out looking exactly the same.
