The goal is simple: get that PET preform soft enough to blow perfectly, without scorching the plastic and ruining your batch. The nitty-gritty on power These lamps are beasts. They run on high-voltage circuits to cram a ton of wattage into a tiny quartz envelope. If you’re running a 400V system, you get the kind of heat density that keeps your cycle times fast. We built these tubes to handle the “on-off-on-off” grind. You know how it is—machines stop, they start, they flicker. Most filaments just give up under that pressure, but ours are designed to take the beating. Just do me a favor: keep your contactors clean. Voltage spikes are the only thing that’ll really get to these. Why the quartz matters We use high-purity quartz glass. Why? Because it lets the shortwave IR radiation actually get into the PET wall instead of bouncing off it. And we stuck with the R7s connector. It’s the standard for a reason—it makes swapping lamps during a maintenance window fast and tool-less. Plus, we added a special coating to the quartz. It stops the heat from leaking into the machine frame and pushes all that energy exactly where it belongs: into the preform. Putting them in (and a few warnings) These are true drop-in replacements. You pull the old tube, wire it up, and you’re done. No messing around with the oven housing or hacking the machine. But here’s the thing. If you go with high-wattage lamps for those heavy-wall preforms, your cooling blowers are going to work harder. If you’re pushing the wattage to the absolute limit to shave seconds off your speed, keep an eye on your oven exhaust temperatures. You don’t want to fry your sensors. One last tip:**get your alignment right in the reflector.**If the lamp isn’t sitting perfectly, you’ll get cold spots in your bottles, and that’s a headache nobody needs.
